The Ultra 5 was the first Sun Sparc workstation, based on the UltraSPARC microprocessor line, that introduced various commodity PC compatible hardware components to Sun Sparc hardware. It features ATA (IDE) hard disks and CD-Rom drives, PCI expansion slots and the common ATI Rage PRO video chip equiped with a standard D-Sub VGA connector.
